On this page you and your class can learn how to safely communicate and protect yourself online.
Are your students aware of who they are talking to online?
The internet can be a dangerous place if you do not know who you are talking to using collaborative learning networks. There are real friends and there are internet friends. Real friends are the ones you know in person and internet friends are ones you only know online and may not be a true representation of them self. Are you teaching the difference between real and online friends? Are your students secure online users? Along with knowing who you are talking to, you must know how to protect yourself with security and privacy settings on collaborative learning networks such as Edmodo, Twitter, Skype, blogs and more. Student internet users need to understand privacy settings to keep their personal information secure. When using online websites and apps users need to protect who can see their information, pictures and posts as well as keep a secure identity with a safe screen name.
